A Sunday Well Spent Brings A Week of Content: Brunching Around Baltimore

Its a well known fact that brunch cures all ailments of the Sunday Scaries. Nothing cushions the blow of Sunday's impending turn into Monday more gently than bottomless mimosas, a side of bacon, and your closest friends by your side as you rehash the weekend. This past Sunday I found myself doing just that at the popular Fells Point hot spot, Barocina. With harbor views and authentic Mexican food and drink, Barocina has what it takes to ensure a week of content.

At $13, bottomless mimosas were a no-brainer for me. Compared to other popular brunch places around Baltimore, $13 is well worth the delicious mix of orange juice and bubbly! The two other diners who joined me went with the equally economical and equally delicious bottomless bloodies.

The brunch menu encompasses a beautifully diverse mix of breakfast foods both authentic and traditional. The main brunch menu includes Mexican favorites such as Huevos Rancheros and Carne Asda Y Huevos. Brunch classics with a twist include Ancho Cinnamon French Toast with banana rum caramel and Tiramisu Pancakes with whipped espresso and Kahula marscapone, and Corn and Crab Omelettes. Not a breakfast person? No worries. Choose from their list of Taco dishes ranging from Kung Pao Chicken to Colorado Green Chili Pork.

After much painful deliberation, I opted for the Blackened Lemon Fish Tacos. This zesty and flavorful dish came as a trio, with red and green cabbage slaw, sprinkled with cilantro and lemon aoli. To satisfy our sweet tooth, the table ordered a serving of red velvet pancakes. Decadent and delicious as they were, drizzled in creme cheese icing, they easily satisfied our sugar craving.

My friends and I left with full belly's and huge smiles, ready to take on what the week had to offer. Barocina's wide range of options, fair prices and divine fare make it a contender for a weekly Sunday brunch spot for my friends and I.
